In 2015, we purchased a 1897, “fixer-upper” farm house on a 10 acre farm in Missouri. We were looking for a simple life for our family of (then) 5. Since then, we have renovated the bathroom, kitchen, started raising chickens, ducks, and dairy goats…plus added two more beautiful daughters to our family. Things are certainly never boring around here!
We still have a long way to go to our more sustainable, debt-free, and family focused life, but we couldn’t be more excited for the journey! In 2020 we focused on better financial stability by paying off a large portion of our remaining medical and personal debt. We also renovated the kitchen, added a greenhouse to our farm, and learned a lot during our first goat kidding season! In 2021 we plan to focus on doubling-down efforts to live waste-free, hope to perhaps add a dairy cow to the mix, and tear down and rebuild the mudroom on the house.
So, if you’re interested in learning more about low-waste living, large-family in small spaces hacks, farmsteading, DIY remodels, homeschooling, and self-sustainability then come along for the ride. We have a lot to learn together!
